In a great book from the 1950's,
Titled The Shape of Time, author
George Kubler claimed that
If you were to think of a
Triangular axis....on one point,
He places the craftsman,
A place with limited abilities as
An artist
On the opposing axis he places the
Artist,
A place with limited craft abilities.
A career of working will cause the
Opposing positions to intersect.
Implying the actions beginning
From either starting point
Results in the intersection of
The qualities of both roles.

'Tis a dense, and wonderful
Book.....
So...with time it doesn't matter....
Artist/craftsman....

My favorite line from Bill Murray
In the movie Meatballs....
And a mantra for a lot of issues....
=3DB3It just doesn=3DB9t matter.=3DB2

Yes, it is a fake conflict. It doesn't exist in Japan.

"The tea ceremony bowl is the ceramic equivalent of a sonnet: a
small-scale, seemingly constricted form that challenges the artist to
go beyond mere technical virtuosity and find an approach that both
satisfies and transcends the conventions." -- Rob Sliberman
