Hi all,
Yes, I'm such a lurker.=3DA0 My apologies!

I've been working on a ceramics "forum" on the NING website.=3DA0 It has ju=
st
been opened to the public and I'd like to invite anyone who would be
interested in participating. Here is the link:=3DA0=3DA0=3DA0http://se-texa=

I've poured over forums and discussion boards. I've been observing my
students and former students actively and successfully use the Lee College
Yahoo group (which we are keeping just for our ceramics classes at Lee
College, Baytown, TX).=3D20

And I've been watching and reading the ClayArts listserve newsletter too.=
=3D
=3D20
The comments on both sides of this topic "listserv vs bright-n-shiny forum"
have been interesting and I agree with both sides.=3DA0 For my students, we=
h=3D
ave
found out over the last couple of years, that the yahoo group newsletter
situation works very well.=3DA0 We are keeping it. Just like most of us
appreciate the ClayArt listserv.=3DA0 I do.=3DA0 BUT, my students have desi=
red
something more visual and more open to the public.=3DA0 I believe the Fire =
&a=3D
mp;
Clay Forum on NING provides it.=3D20

Although Fire & Clay Forum on NING doesn't have the emailing newsletter
feature which is so useful, there is the ability to 'comment' on anything
and there is a way to email. I think it will serve us well for posting
images of our work and discussing them. It also has a great forum for
discussion topics and a place to post events.

I have no illusions or desire or intent on making the Fire & Clay site
replace any of our groups or listservs.=3DA0 But my students & I have found=
a
need for a much more visual way to discuss our work with others.=3DA0=3DA0=
=3DA0An=3D
d NING
has been very easy to manipulate in a number of ways.

Anyways, please join us=3DA0 if you have the inclination.

If there is clay in the room, itz on me.
