Calli,

The red iron oxide you are using may be the source of your trouble. If that
formula that John sent you is also problematic, you might try doing a line
blend varying the iron content from about half to about 1.25 times the
recommended iron content. It's also possible that your talc is one that is
relatively high in calcia at the expense of magnesia. For that problem, a
line blend subbing increased amounts of talc with decreased whiting (and
silica)could be fruitful.
