firing to cone 13/
my metaphor is what it is.
i am a great advocate of the `jonas salk` theory.
when he found the cure for polio, he was quoted as saying.
`many in science and research get on the same bus, going down the same road=
,
they are all on the same bus, looking at the same things...to really
solve a great problem, you have to get off the bus, stop in a small town,
walk the back streets.....i found the cure for polio in an alley, behind
a garbage can.` (Northrop aud. , university of minnesota, 1958, convocatio=
n
lecture that i attended.)
he is one of my heros. chuck yeager is one of my heros, bucky fuller
is one of my heros.
they all got off the bus. tried something new.
i found hare's fur at cone 13, i found partridge feather and oil
spot temmoku at 13. it did not occur at cone 9. i have found some
amazing copper reds/purple/blue at cone 13. i have found chinese yellow
at cone 13.
i would not look up to see a movie star.
i ran at oshkosh fly in to see `glamorous glenis` p-51 plane land,
and followed it to the parking place...and shook colonel yeager`s hand.
it was the same as speaking to orville wright.
we have to take small chances from time to time.
walk on the small branches...get our arms away from
the main trunk. no one finds their own `voice` doing the
same as others. that bus gets really crowded. and, it sure is boring
riding that packed bus.
mel
my grand daughter`s friend threw away a casio/6meg camera.
no battery, no cords..nothing. she was cleaning her car in my driveway.
i took it.
i found a battery for it on amazon for $4.60 with a charger for
$3.00, so, i got two batteries and a charger, added my own
256 flash card. now i have a casio exilim 6 meg camera for under
15 bucks. used a cotton swab and some alcohol to clean it up,
and the camera is like new. i download the flash card with a reader that
i picked up for .99cents. the lost art of `engine nuity`.
