Hi Mary
David's suggestion is what I would do. I would take the base or bases you
like, and add line blends of
colorants which will yield a tan.
In my tests, besides Manganese and Rutile, I have found Titanium often give=
s
a yellow to tan color.
You could see a lot of tans in the Manganese tests at
http://www.flickr.com/photos/glazes/sets/
in the Manganese Pink set. Most all of the tests were a tan or brown tan.
No pinks, but careful, many opalescent blue.
Good luck
Best regards from Alisa in Denmark
