I use slip to throw and have a plastic container of slip. Between =3D
throwing I put the plastic lid on the container and seal it. The =3D
container of throwing slip is always filled after a throwing session. =3D
I've never had stinky slip. I've been using the same bucket for several =3D
years. Next to the throwing slip I have a bucket of water that I use to =3D
rinse off my hands and clean out my sponges. This water bucket is not =3D
sealed between throwing sessions. It generally gets stinky in about 2 to =
=3D
3 days. I believe the difference is the amount of air (oxygen) that is =3D
available for the bacteria. The slip bucked has virtually no air. The =3D
water bucket has a continuous supply of air. Both have a mixture of =3D
water, clay and some dead skin cells.=3D20
As a side note. I add the stinky water to clay scraps when I reclaim =3D
clay. The reclaimed clay seems to be more elastic as a result.
