As an aside to this, CMC will go "off" quickly anyway unless you add a smal=
l percentage of disinfectant to it.

Dear Jacqueline;

If you store your glazes in a solarium as I do, you learn to avoid
CMC and Vee Gum Cer because they will rapidly spoil in the bucket and
stink. That leaves bentonite and Vee Gum T. I prefer to use Vee Gum T
in my glazes. I use more(1.5%) of it in my shinos than in other
glazes because I love the way it enhances the 'runs, drips, and
errors' That bring shinos alive. BTW, real bone ash will also spoil
if given enough light..... as in a solarium.
