It sounds like your bat pin holes may be worn and are letting the bat move
while you are centering. What has worked for me in getting bats with worn
pin holes to stay in place is to put three small clay balls equally spaced
around the wheel head and place and bang the bat down, smooshing the clay
and creating a strong bond between bat and wheel head. The bat is a little
harder to get off, but it doesn't move around while throwing. I hope this
addresses your problem.
