outdoor wedging table

I'm fixing to build a wedging table that will live outdoors on the deck. I
figure it can be built of treated wood and/or sealed with deck stain or
something. I would like to have a plaster top--will it hold up out in the
elements? I'll plan to throw a tarp over it when not in use. As long as
there are no cracks for water to get into and freeze will it be okay? Does it
matter what kind of plaster I use? On the other hand, a slate surface would
be attractive, if practical.

So far, I've been told to have the wedging surface height roughly the distance
from the floor to my knuckles (with arms hanging, of course) and the table
must be very stable. Any and all pointers and suggestions will be
appreciated.

Thanks,

Pam

I like cement wedging tables the best, should be good for outside.
