i bought some of the silicon carbide ones from larkin that brandon phillips
refers to but i was not impressed with them at all. many were warped
slightly right from the factory and several cracked early on. also, they
cost $50 when i bought them in 07 (18X24) but now those same shelves go for
$78! not a bad deal at 50 but for 78, no way.
so a few months ago i bought 20 core-lite shelves and they are excellent. I
have not fired them enough to comment on warpage but so far they show no
sighs of it and they are exremely light. makes loading the kiln a lot
easier.

yikes! i just purchased 20 for the university where i teach. i purchased
mine in early 04...i wonder if it's now a different manufacturer or if the
QC has just gone to crap...that's too bad. i'll keep you posted on how
these hold up.
