boiling in tea pots in tea

This has brought back some old memories!! Back in the 70's or so, I
used to make pots out of Quyles Sandstone and cover them with Kentucky
ball clay, OM4? It fires white at C/5 and then I would boil them in
about 5lbs of tea in a big galvanized bucket until they were dry,
turning them occasionally. I got some nice purples,& golden browns.
