Hi Lee,
I am all for biofuels, and wood in particular, but I am not following
your math. How can the process actually sequester any CO2 if all biomass
is burnt? Roots in the ground? But roots rot and produce same amount of
CO2 anyway, just slower and with 0 net use to us (humans).

Speaking of wood as fuel, I have been searching for dual fuel hot water
indoor boiler (wood and natural gas) to replace my ageing gas only
boiler, and cannot find any. There are plenty of oil and wood, and one
forced air model, and some outdoor units, but nothing that matches my
combo. Anyone knows of such a beast?

2/3rds of the tree is not burnt. In college botany 101, they explain
that a large part of a tree's mass is underground. That, along with
the leaves, bark, and small branches left in the woods is released
slowly. Some might end up as petrochemicals in the future.

Remember, if you burn wood not specifically raised for fuel (like
scrap wood), you aren't sequestering as much as if you were growing
that wood specifically for fuel. The data is available if you know to
look for it.
