firing wood with gas/mel's book

mr. goode.
i would never build a wood fired kiln without gas
potential.

bad weather.
a stuck kiln.
too much wood...needs to be burned out.
mental break down. TURN ON THE GAS.

iT is just prudent to have gas.
it is the `holy than thou, wood only folks that
think it is sin to use gas.`
use whatever you want.
it is just prudent to have a gas supply.

think of this:
98 degrees F, hot and humid, been firing
for 18 hours. tired, hot, arguing going on.
it is 3 a.m.
turn on the gas, take a rest, eat and drink some fluid.
take a nap.
the kiln just chugs along.
save the firing...take care of your workers.

THE BOOK
cindy at greatapes has me doing the last of the
re/writes, of the re/writes. she is a fuss budget.
but, editors are golden, and she is doing a wonderful
job.
it gets better each time.
i just finished 18 pages.
added some of my writing back.
we see the light at the end of the tunnel.
like having a baby...nine months of labor.

soon, i will have clayart friends send in for the signed,
ready to ship book. clayart first.

as you know, this is a clayart project. well over 30 clayart
friends have contributed to this book. it makes it big, and daunting.
but, on the other hand...WONDERFUL

Mel: Why do you fire with wood? Wood just seems like a fuss and bother to
you...why not just turn on the gas, and be done with it?
