I would pronounce the teas the following way.
Sencha I agree with what Jeanette Harris=3DA0 said.
gyokuro =3D3D gyo with a long "o", as in long o says its own name and gyo i=
s =3D
pronounced as a=3DA0=3DA0 single syllable , ku with the u pronounced like t=
he "=3D
ue" in blue, ro with the "o" pronounced like the "ow" part of row and the r=
=3D
pronounced half way between an "l" and a "r"
Kukicha =3D3D ku, same as in the word above, ki as in key, and cha as above=
.
To answer the question about the honorific "O". Yes, it is a keigo prefix f=
=3D
or native Japanese words, very difficult to use if you ask me. I have alway=
=3D
s understood the honorific for words imported from China is "Go" although I=
=3D
would have to check. The kanji is the same for both "O" and "Go". Maybe so=
=3D
meone=3DA0 on this list knows the distinction between the two.
