It sounds like a dream kiln temp wise.
I'd make the setting tighter & smaller in
the hotter sections.
If you can't get reduction on the bottom shelf,
don't put glazes that require much or any
reduction in that spot.
Iron glazes, especially temmoku, come to mind
as something suitable.
Ron Roy's "Ole Black Magic"* handles quite an
atmospheric range & the iron content can be
tweaked to cope with a greater variation.
