101 clayart mugs... roll call

Dear Clayarters...

Thanks for your generous replies. I will let you know whether or
not I will hold the exhibit, hopefully I will know within the next week or
so. If I get approximately 50 potters saying that they want to participate
then I will make it a "GO"... In my opinion if 50 potters say "yes" now
then I feel
fairly certain that I will pick up another 50 by the start of summer. I
would of course strongly recommend that anyone participating should provide
a dozen
or so of their business cards and perhaps biography sheets. There would be no
rush to get the mugs here since we don't get busy until June. The
possibilities of this exhibit creates several interesting scenarios.
This money issue is a legitimate one and I do fully understand why
some would not want to participate. On the other hand if a potter were to
attract the interest of just one customer then the cost of making and
sending a mug to Naples could easily be recovered. I guess one could look
at this investment as if it were an application fee.
As I said before there will be no jurying and anyone can
participate with no limits on the number of participants. I WILL RESERVE
THE RIGHT TO NOT DISPLAY POTTERY THAT IS NOT APPROPRIATE, SOUND, OR OF GOOD
QUALITY. In other words if the exhibit takes place then it will be a good
one. Mugs will be sold at fair retail market value and I will adjust the
suggested retail price as I deem necessary. Mugs that are sent to me for
this exhibit will become my property and will not be returned. So that
everyone understands: Proceeds from any sells will be retained by me or
distributed as I see fit. Please do not send any mugs until you are
instructed to do so. If you are interested in participating in this
exhibit then please e-mail directly at: expressing your
intent. If you do not get a reply from me within 48 hrs then please "send
again".

Thanks... Marshall
