clay molds for glass

Hello everyone-
I have heard that it is possible to melt glass in an electric kiln using
a mold of some sort. Previously I had melted bottles and assorted
crushed glass in a flat clay dish, and I coated the plate with with our
shop kiln shelf wash. The results have always been the same, a flat
almost useless lump of unmanageable glass. Now is there some way to
make a mold that would be ultra-refractory and that can be about 2
inches deep with glass? Does anyone have a suggestion? Also any hints
to a successful annealing process in an electric kiln? Any info will be
much appreciated.
