It shows a Yixing teapot master handbuilding a teapot. The video will be
continued on the Ceramic Arts Daily site on December 11. It is very worth
watching.

I'd like to say a little about Stephen Robison, who made this video. He an=
d
his wife Kathy Guss were my artists-in-residence in clay at the Appalachian
Center for Craft from 1996 to 1999. Steve and Kathy were already amazing
potters when they came to the Craft Center, having already been in residenc=
e
at the Archie Bray Foundation. Steve got his MFA at University of Iowa, and
I think that he and Kathy are two of the finest potters in North America
today. After leaving the Craft Center he went on to a number of teaching
jobs. He was at the University of North Carolina-Pembroke for quite a few
years, but was just hired into a wonderful job at Washington
State-Ellensburg, where he has a fantastic facility and will be building up
the graduate program. It is nice to finally see him in a school/facility
worthy of his talents. Below are links to a sampling of work by Steve and
Kathy at their flickr site. If you have some time, peruse the site. You
will find a huge collection of work by Steve and Kathy and many other
leading potters. There is also a big collection of Yixing teapots
illustrated. There is so much stuff on Steve and Kathy's flickr site that
it is a bit hard to negotiate, but well worth the effort.
