soda vapour glazing at cone 6

Hello all CLAYART subscribers.
I have just completed construction of a 20 cu. ft. Catenary arch downdraft
kiln.
It has been a dream of mine to build and fire a vapour glaze kiln since my
College
days back in the seventies.
I currently fire my stoneware pots to cone 5-6 and would like to continue
firing to that temp. in the new kiln. There seems to be very little info on
vapour glazing at that temp.
In Jack Troys' book, Salt-Glazed Ceramics, he mentions that most
historical salt glazed ware was probably fired to cone 4-6. Is there anyone
out there doing this now?

Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'll keep you posted
on how things go with new kiln.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of Jack Troys' book. Jack, are you
out there?

Thanks in advance, Dan .
