Lee: You're completely missing the point on this la Meridiana
scholarship business. Anyone can take a course at la Meridiana. It's
simple pay your money just like Nceca and you're welcome. However
unlike Nceca La Meridiana is not an organziation other than being one
potter's dream of running a pottery school. La Meridiana is private
enterprise.
There are many guilds and organizations across the nation that
generously give scholarships to deserving potters from the proceeds of
their sales etc. Those scholarships are meant for the members or
perhaps students from the nearby art school. We do this to enrich our
local clay family.
God if we opened our little cash book to the world we'd be swamped
with hands out.
It is wonderful to have a world view but when you're living off your
own means like Pietro does at La Meridiana does you feed your own
family first. That family is his European peers. A generous gesture in
my mind!
Perhaps you can set out to raise scholarship money to send me to
Turkey. That is my next pottery dream destination.
All the best,
Tony

Thanks for clarifying Tony. Russel said otherwise.
How about one of those pottery cruises. Maybe to the
tropics? That sounds pretty good at -20*C.
