I, too, would like to buy a copy of Jack Troy's salt-glazing/firing
book. I think I've rounded up most of the materials available (at least
a few), including a couple of excellent videos by Gordon Hutchins, but
can't find Jack's book. Since I hope to have my new Geil kiln for
soda/salt firing sometime next summer (his are worth waiting for, but
you do have to wait; he always has a backlog of some months it seems),
I'm trying to learn all I can about the process as well as to develop
more proficiency with my small reduction kiln (12 cu ft) so I can fire
the slightly larger (17 cu ft) soda/salt kiln with greater ease. I know
these are not large kilns but it takes me a couple of weeks or more to
fill even that size. However, I'm not in a contest including with
myself. No "personal best" attempts here. I just want to make
pots...and make them better...and better...and larger...and...

Back on the topic: if you have a copy of Jack's book with which you're
willing to part, or know of someone who might, please e-mail the
information.
