Howdy,

One of the stated missions of the National K-12 Exhibition Foundation is =
=3D
to provide aid and assistance to any and all teachers at all levels of the =
=3D
K-12 continuum. That assistance includes web links, lesson plans, and a =3D
directory of fellow teachers utilizing clay in the classroom across the =3D
country. There are presentations every year at the NCECA conference =3D
specifically for the purpose of improving and increasing the scope of =3D
ceramics education in every classroom possible. This is in addition to the =
=3D
National K-12 Exhibition displaying entries submitted from all fifty =3D
states in all grades and from public, private, charter and home schools.=3D=

=3D20
Let's get together in Philadelphia, have a meeting of the minds, and set a =
=3D
plan into action to unite forces on focused fronts rather than do a little =
=3D
here and there and dissipate the strengths we share collectively by =3D
scattering our efforts. I already use my classroom expertise to assist =3D
teachers throughout my cone of influence in my own district and state arts =
=3D
education association. Let's all take the fight to the state superintendent=
=3D
s' meetings, the regional superintendents conferences, the state legislatur=
=3D
es and the local and state school boards. We all need to be pro-active in =
=3D
making sure that education does not become merely reading, writing and =3D
'rithmetic through rote memorization. Binge and purge education has become =
=3D
the style of learning in order to get kids to pass the tests required by =
=3D
No Child Left Behind and state levels exams. Binge on the information you =
=3D
need to pass the next test, purge it from your mind as soon as you =3D
successfully squeak past, then binge on the next tray of=3D20
packaged names, dates, facts, and figures for the next test.
I'm inviting my district superintendent to NCECA. Especially if some of my =
=3D
students get work in the K-12 show. Parents and school board members, =3D
also. See you there,
=3D20
