The writer in the post "clay, art and tv" says, "the death of art is at
hand" and bemoans the state of "our fine institutions". He provides
examples of the hand maker, singer, and other creators who once lived all
around us and have apparently been replaced by TV and other amusements.

Missing the old days is a long, well established tradition and a request fo=
r
more people involved in hand crafted, valued items is a reasonable request.
However, I don't really understand this attachment to the previous traditio=
n
when expressed without any respect or attempt to use the established
language. Writing with no capital letters, improper sentence structure (or=
,
more accurately, very few sentences), etc. could simply be a way of
maintaining a certain bohemian reputation. It could also be a sign of
ignorance or a sign of laziness. And, of course, it could be many other
things. What it is not likely to be however is an obvious link to the way
it previous was in small town America. Writing this way diminishes the
message (regardless of the intent or content of the message). It may be
fine for limited length massages such as those within Twitter and Instant
Message accounts. I just don't think it is as appropriate for long, wordy,
supposedly sophisticated arguments.
