I am thinking of buying the 14.5 megapixel Nikon Coolpix
S710. Does anyone have any experience with it? Or do you
have an equivalent camera that you recommend?

Thanks,

Sincerely,

check out dpreview.com if you want to know about cameras - this is a
great resource. they have comparison shots taken with just about
everything available on the market under various lighting conditions.
same picture over and over and over and over. but it is really
amazing to see the difference in quality between different cameras and
especially between the various brands of cameras.

Arnold,

I have a Canon Powershot SD 850 IS which I got from Sam's Club in the
overstock area for $150!! There are great deals there if you have a
membership. (and the membership may be worth one camera. They also have
organic spinach for $3.00!)

Plus you can compare at:

Hay Folks, Arnold,

The new Pentaz Optio W80 and a second battery I ordered for Christmas shou=
ld arrive on the 6Th. It is 12.1 mega-pixel, waterproof, dust proof, shockp=
roof, and cold proof so I can HD video the kiln firing and use the JVC in w=
armer weather. My W30 is 7mp and will make 20"x30" prints, according to my =
Fotki site, so the W80 ought to give me some huge Morel mushroom and firewo=
rks prints. Olympus also has an underwater compact but it cost a bit more. =
I'll probably get a Pentax DSLR next year. Here is what it's all about, I'm=
getting the Gunmetal...
