It is nice to see that Venco still makes cone drive wheels. They
also make a new "Direct Drive" with cordless foot-pedal. Anybody use
either of these?

Thanks Suvira! Probably, the cone drive is like the Shimpo? I was
really happy to see that someone still makes a conedrive and was
intrigued by the direct drive.

I am Australian and work here in Australia... Venco is probably the =3D20
most common wheel amongst potters here.
My direct drive cordless is an excellent wheel but it took some =3D20
getting used to after years using the cone drive models.
Initially I could not wear my normal work boots with the cordless =3D20
pedal as it is so sensitive. It is that feature that I would =3D20
change....to recalibrate the pedal. I do like the manual speed =3D20
adjustment option for working on larger pieces.
It also has very high torque power which was hard on my wrists in the =3D20=
=3D

beginning. It is a quiet one.
A fine piece of equipment for a more experienced potter, however I =3D20
would not recommend such a wheel to learn on.
Having never used a Brent or Shimpo I cannot make any comparisons, =3D20
Brents especially are not so common in Australia.
