Hi,
I'm trying to make my own flexible stamps, thinner than the rubber erasure
stuff you can buy in the art stores now. I've seen recently rubber stamped
pattern companies for patterning clay on the market. Anyone have a source?
The typical rubber stamp isn't deep enough.
Also, making up a batch of 03 Arbuckle majoica and want to be able to brush
it on. Would I just add CMC &/or bentonite to the amount I want to brush on=
?
I don't want to necessarily add it to a 5 g bucket.
Thanks,
Centa Theresa

Hi Centa=3D2C=3D20
adding both CMC and Bentonite=3D2C used together=3D2C will keep the 5 gal b=
atch=3D
in better suspension during storage. =3D20
=3D20
I have used this combination in all my glazes for many years with no ill ef=
=3D
fects to the glaze or results.
=3D20
CMC in a 15 grams to 1 gal. mixing water puts a tough skin on the unfired g=
=3D
laze making handling and loading a pleasure. Especially on fritted glazes t=
=3D
hat would otherwise flake or dust off from handling.=3D20
=3D20
Add a shot(not much) of chlorine bleach to retard CMC spoilage.=3D20
=3D20
Also I put Glass Magic=3D2C a dishwasher anti-spot defloculant=3D2C into my=
gla=3D
zes at 1 tbl spoon per 1000 grams of dry glaze mix.
=3D20
These three ingredients in combination makes for glazes that dip=3D2C pour=
=3D2C=3D
spray and flow off a brush with ease. Waking up a stored glaze containin=
=3D
g these ingredients is usually like the condition of a stored commercial gl=
=3D
aze. You know=3D2C all smooth and buttery with a minimum of stirring.
=3D20
I have posted to this before. Anyone who has a glaze that was impaired=3D=
2C=3D
or otherwise changed in any negative manner from these ingredients=3D3B I =
wo=3D
uld really like to know of it and the circumstances. Please
