For those that love sculpture in particular Rodin and are coming to =3D
Phila. :
Phila has one of the largest collections of Rodin sculpture, outside =3D
Europe,
in his own museum on the parkway. This is not too far from the =3D
convention
area.
There is a book=3D20
"Naked Came I" by David Weiss that a friend gave me to read when in =3D
college
prior to going to the museum. It was a very good book I guess =3D
biographical,
that took you through his life and making of the sculptures that when I =3D
got
there I felt I knew each one intimately. It is a long book and out of =3D
print
but available in libraries and I just looked on Amazon and they had a =3D
number
of inexpensive copies. A visit to this museum is a very worthwhile side
trip. Liz Gowen

That is close to the Moore College of Arrt across the Parkway and there =3D
will be NCECA shows there. ABout 10 minutes from the convention center.

The Philadelphia Art Museum is at the end of the Parkway.=3D20
I spent many days during the time I lived in the Philly area wandering =3D
around that building.
You can run up the steps and do a "Rocky Balboa" (thankfully they =3D
removed that bronze statue from the site).
Also the University Museum was where I first saw ancient greek pottery, =3D
mummies and huge rooms that made me feel like I was in
ancient China, Egypt, etc etc.

me too, me, too!=3D20
I love the University Museum. My Sat. Art classes use to go to both to =3D
sketch. We also went to the Museum of natural history.
The Phila Museum of Art also has a Contemporary ceramics Collection.
Sylvester was in my High School Class.
The Parkway is a great center of museums.=3D20
