I have an old RK-2 Shimpo that runs perfectly and I still use it
occasionally. I purchased in 1976. The splash pan is no longer
serviceable. I have repaired it with fiberglass to the point to where it i=
s
mostly fiberglass. It just does not fit the way it should.
Does anyone know where I can purchase a new splash pan. Are they even out
there?

I don't know if they still carry it, but I found one at Laguna 5
years ago (for my 1972 RK2). It was a one-piece, round pan (no tool
shelf like the 2-piece original). It was about $35.
The original 2-piece pan sort of crystalized--basically shattered
into shards at the slightest touch! And it took a bit of doing to
remove the wheel head after all those years (necessary to install a
one-piece pan).

I also have an RK-2 and they don't make those splashpans anymore. A few=3D=

others will fit, but you're not going to be able to replace that two part=

kind of pan.
I've also repaired mine into near extinction. It literally has a full la=

tape over the whole thing.
Occassionaly my local pottery supply shop will have one of the pieces, bu=

I've never been able to replace both.
