Vince,
What about the vertical shaft with a knob on the end that used to be
attached to some of the RK series foot pedals? Something like that would
allow you to adjust the speed by hand...

The RK Whisper does have the "stick shift" attached to the foot pedal.

Hi Mike -
I have one of those on my homemade wheel, with a nice old gearshift knob on
the top. But I don't adjust speed by hand when I am throwing. I am
conditioned to adjusting speed with my foot. This really is not a problem,
because I just do all my class demos on one of our other wheels. Eventuall=

I will get a Whisper for my own studio, and I will keep the Shimpo clone as
a monument.
