The Ceramic Designers Association of Tidewater Virginia is offering a =3D
demo-type workshop with ceramics professor and sculptor Jack Thompson. =3D
Jack Thompson will have a one-man show at the Projects Gallery in =3D
Philadelphia during NCECA 2010. He is also co-curating a another show =3D
and facilitating a panel discussion in the Projects Gallery during =3D

Jack Thompson has spent 40 years with the clay medium. He has been a =3D
professor of Ceramics, Design and Sculpture at Moore College of Art and =3D
Design in Philadelphia for 33 years, has a thorough knowledge of the =3D
history of world ceramics and has traveled extensively gathering =3D
cultural information and images. He has conducted lectures and =3D
workshops at universities and art institutes around the US and in =3D
Mexico. Among his numerous talents and broad knowledge of techniques, =3D
he considers his greatest strength to be building ceramic sculpture =3D
through modeling, mould making and casting in clay. The workshop will =3D
include a segment on mould making and casting. Workshop hours may be =3D
adjusted slightly; all registered participants will be notified in =3D
advance of time changes. The venue has space for large attendance, but =3D
it is necessary to register and pay in advance.
