I always use vinegar or Magic water interchangeably--whatever I have at
hand at a given moment. However, I had to return to Kyrgyzstan to do some
final reporting on my road project and I mistakenly bought a bottle of 85%
acid vinegar--it smells and tastes like battery acid. US vinegar is 6% or
less. So I am going to bring a bottle of that stuff home and try different
strengths to see if there is a difference in attaching my big fish componen=
ts
and handles, etc. Will let the list know the results.....

There are a mountain of special
restrictions on carrying powerful
acids on flights. BE CAREFUL!
YOU COULD CONCEIVABLY BE ARRESTED FOR
TRYING TO GET IT ON A PLANE.
In any event, powerful acetic acid
mixtures, and even glacial acetic
acid (water-free acid) is readily
available in the US.
I've never had to get anyone out
of a Kyrgyz jail, but I've spent
hours arguing with officials in
Tajik jails, and it's not any kind
of place you'd want to spend a night.
Much less a year or three while they
try to gin up a case for prosecuting
you as a terrorist.
