The Irish mug problem has haunted me all week....Then last night a tiny =3D
idea.

There seems to be no Irish TEA mug, but there IS/ARE Irish COFFEE mugs.

IRISH COFFEE is--so the Internet says--made from hot coffee (would you =3D
believe it?)brown sugar, Irish whiskey and whipped cream.

And the mugs they advertize for it are tallish, narrowish mugs with a =3D
foot about 2" tall. Really looks more like an urn with a handle...

I suspect that someplace along the line someone had drunk tea--or =3D
whatever--out of one, and assumed it was meant as a tea mug.

Or why I drink out of jelly glasses...

Hi Lili, all...

Would one not expect that the Irish used 'Tea Cups'? - even as nearly
everyone
else in wider
Christiandom did if a Tablecloth were present, and, often-enough, even when
not?

Not to say, that individuals in casual or Labor or Maritime or Outdoor's
Work situations would not have their Tea in an unambiguous Mug ( even as I
do, ) but...at Table, or in situations of aspiring to provide a suggestion
of politeness for
Social setting, one used
Tea Cups for Tea..?

The tall Cup some c-o-u-l-d wish to ( I hope not! ) call a 'Mug', to which
Lee had supplied the link -

...was/is absolutely lovely...

Though I doubt in it's day, that it would have been a vessel agreed to be
limited to only
Tea.

I thought "Oye" had an "e" on the end???

Oye... ( does when I spell it! Lol...)

Ohhh...yeah, on the Irish Coffee 'Glass'...

Yuck...

Mid 1970s, had a girlfriend who loved Irish Coffees made with Bushmills.

So, we'd go out to a nice close bye Bar and get plastered, and, have a grea=
t
time...stagger-walk home arm-in-arm...San Francisco, usually drizzling...

However, I always insisted to the Bartender, that my Beverage shall be heav=
y
Ceramic Coffee Mug, and, not an unstable, silly, 'Foo-Foo' kinda 'Glass'...

He understood...

There are just things a Man does not do...and, that is one of them.

Love,

Phil

Hi=3D2C I've just asked a friend in Ireland and he said...

"Hmm no idea. Dont know of an "irish" mug but something that holds
enough tea so you don't have to get up for a while and heavy enough to
be used in self defense probably be Irish. :)

I'll ask my father
he has been drinking tea for 68 years so he should know the different
generations of mugs. He'll probably say "Well the cups me mother had
were....." I'll have to see what he actually says!."
