Does anyone know of a source for lead carbonate [white lead]?
Please, don't start a thread about the dangers of lead in glazes. I'm =3D
aware of all that and plan to use it carefully, responsibly and with due =
=3D
concern for the proper disposalof any waste. And, no, I'm not planning =3D
on using the glaze on anything that could contain food.

U.S. Pigment stocks and sells both white and red lead. They are very
reasonable in both their prices and their shipping charges, and are a
pleasure to deal with. I order most all of my colorants from them.

I use lead white for painting - you can get the powder here, but I'm not
sure if it's the same as that used for ceramics, but I can't see why it
isn't.

I second James recommendation. U.S. Pigment is a joy to work with and very
helpful. They also carry lead frits and some of the more uncommon products
like praesodium and potassium bichromate (which is great for achieving reds
at low temps).
