Sorry this is a bit late, but I do have a way to wire a fountain that I think
might work for you. I'll do my best to explain this clearly, but feel free to
e-mail me personally. If necessary, I'll snail-mail you a diagram.
I make fountains using small submersible pumps. Since these sit in the bottom
of the fountain, they are covered by something (e.g. another "upside down"
pot, a clay slab, rocks, etc.). Next to where the pump is sitting, attach a
hollow tube of clay to the bottom of the fountain base. Make sure the tube is
large enough for the plug to pass through after shrinkage. Also make sure
that the height of the tube exceeds your proposed water level. (That is,
higher than the pump intake valve, and lower than whatever you're covering the
pump with.) Cut through the bottom of the pot so that you can see all the way
through the tube. On the bottom of the fountain base, either cut a "mouse-
hole" for the cord or make a tunnel for it. Remember to account for shrinkage
again. Your pump sits on the bottom, the plug is threaded through the tube
and the plug cord runs through the tunnel or the "mouse-hole."
I've tried acupuncture for my arthritis, but I don't feel that it did anything
for me. Quit after the acupuncturist stuck needles under my kneecaps. Yes,
ouch. (Her lizard soup DID cure my allergic asthma though!) I'd say that
Glucosamine/Chondroitin had the best effect and fewest side effects of
anything I've tried. I also throw with very warm water, which helps.
Remember all fellow creaky Clayarters, treat your flare-ups like a sprain!
You may have days where you need to trim, clean, make up glazes, bring your
books up to date, or even rest.
There was a thread a while back about the possibility of Clayarters joining
together to get group health insurance. Did anything ever happen with this?
