I have a two chamber wood kiln in Adelphi, Maryland, just outside Washingto=
n
DC. I'm looking for local potters who are interested in working together o=
n
upcoming firings. Please contact me off list if you are interested.

I hope to establish a committed group of local potters who come together
regularly to help each other with firings and with preparing wood and
testing glazes. Part of what makes wood firings fun is the camaraderie,
right? We can all learn from each other. That is why I'm thinking of this
as a co-op.

The kiln is about 55 cubic feet total. It has been firing fast, taking
about 16 hours for the first chamber, and 3 for the second. Consequently,
we are not getting a naturally heavy ash buildup. But we are not purists.
So we have been placing salt cups in with the ware and experimenting with
blown in ash, and of course with sprayed on ash and shake&bake. The result=
s
are really starting to look great. There is more work to be done, but that
is why you are needed in the group.

Think about the possibilities. Let me know what your interests might be.
