Hello all;
Do you have any recommendation for overseas shipping? This is for a
possible wholesale order to the UK. I would like to know if there are
alternative courier other than the big 3 - USPS, UPS and FEDEX.
Thanks
May
P.S. I felt like I have asked this before. Have I? So many things
twirling in my head.... tax receipts...deadlines....stuff.....

We had pretty good luck using the post office to send from Japan to
the USA. I send 2 to 4 packages a month to the U.K., to our friends
in Cornwall. I've sent fine china and hand blown glaze bowls with
zero damage.
We had the most pottery damage when we used a shipping service to
ship over 2000 lbs, mostly pots and books. It was probably our fault
because we did not pack as carefully as we did for the postal service
because we thought it would be safer.
How you pack seems to be the single most important factor.

Hi May,
U.S.P.S. and 'Air' Class of one sort or another ( of course, ) is probably
easiest, and the best value for the service, as far as I have seen.

May,
I'm with Tony, make sure it is legit. I get these emails a few times per =
=3D
year ...
"Hello,
My name is Kimberly Tuton i want to know if your products are available i=
=3D
n stock for=3D20
immediate ordering,so kindly reconfirm your website,so i can review again=
=3D
and let you=3D20

discount.
Lastly regarding payment I will be sending you my credit card for the ful=

charges for my order,do you accept Visa or Master?=3D20
I hope to hear from you as soon as possible so we can proceed with the Or=

Did any of your correspondence sound anything like this? Because this one=
=3D
is most=3D20
definitely a fake.=3D20
A legitimate retailer will not place a large order unless they have seen =
=3D
your work in=3D20
person. Nor will they inquire about your "products" instead of your "pott=

ery." So I did a=3D20
google search for "kimberly tuton wholesale order" and found plenty of in=
=3D
ternet chatter=3D20
which confirmed my suspicions.
I hope you are dealing with a legit order, but you can't be too careful.

Yes, almost exactly. The term "products" is a dead give away. It's a
blanket or should I say "net" email send en-mass. She does not reference
any work specifically. You would be taking considerable risk. Talk to you=
r
bank about safeguards. This very much sounds like a scam. I am sorry. It
is always wonderful to have someone interested in your work. I did a bunch
of Q & A such as "would you please tell me which of my websites you found"
and "how did you find out about my work" usually those 2 questions will
give you the info you need. The one that tried to scam me picked some very
expensive works so the amount was very high--and so would have the charges
from both banks had I fallen for it--the purchase price x2 plus fees. It
would have been a nightmare.
