Howdy all,
Thanks for the suggestions on how to cut a kiln shelf. Lots of great
suggestions there. Mason blade works great on the 4 inch grinder, btw.
We had 16 high school students over to the Art Center this morning to
watch me fire their thin-shelled saggar work. My free raku kiln worked
just fine with my patches and wired up job. Hard to believe that thing
had the get up and go, but I was able to fire off at 1300 deg in maybe
10 minutes or so. Some interesting work from the students too.
Next year we are hoping to involve the students a little more in the
firing process.
I'll put some pics up on my flickr account. Check out the patch I had
to make for the raku shell.
