Dear Everyone,

For anyone who may have missed the initial announcement, I would like to
re-extend the invitation to the first Workshop in Taku. This workshop in
intended to be the first in a series of bi-annual workshops held at/near
my studio here in Taku, Saga Pref., Japan.

The theme for the this initial 7 day workshop is kiln building, and we
will have veteran potter and wood firer Craig Edwards of New London,
Minnesota designing and overseeing the construction of a 2 chambered
catenary anagama/noborigama. In addition, during the course of the main
workshop, Tsuruta Yoshihisa, veteran Karatsu potter and tea ware artist,
will be conducting a one day mini workshop on the forming techniques of
Karatsu ware.

All the details for the workshop can be found at this website:

You can navigate through the sections via the links across the upper
part of the page.

This workshop is a unique opportunity to participate in a kiln building
workshop, while at the same time getting to experience rural Japan, meet
Japanese potters, and make some valuable international connections.

Currently, there are participants coming from the US, Canada, Australia,
Hong Kong, and Japan. It will be quite a meeting of cultures and is sure
to be a lot of fun. If you are interested in joining us, please hurry,
more than half of the spots are already full.

Hope to see you here,

Mike Martino
