The satellite dish idea is a good one and one that I had as well. The =
=3D
small satellite dishes are not round but slightly elliptical. About =3D
1.5" difference in diameter side to side and top to bottom. I didn't =3D
realize this until I acquired one from Goodwill to use as a slump mold.

Long ago a friend of mine was making plastic covers for street lamps in =3D
a
local factory where they were about 1/4' thick and quite large, maybe =3D
15" or
more in diameter. He cut one in half and gave them both to me. I made =3D
great
ball sculptures/pots by using the press mold method. By using a cloth as =
=3D
a
separator, I was able to rotate the clay inside the mold as it grew up =3D
the
sides, and then turn to make a complete sphere except for the hole large
enough for my hand to get inside. Made quite an interesting pot with
additions, thrown foot or other hand built forms. It easily released =3D
with
the cloth separator and had no seam lines from putting two halves =3D
together
as in other forms that I make from matching wooden bowls.=3D20

I made such a sculpture once that turned out IMO to be about the ugliest =
=3D
pot
that I had ever made. I bet my husband that someone would come into my =3D
shop
who would like it and buy it. And they did. It is out there somewhere =3D
either
gracing their living quarters or in the dump!!!
