To those of you in NYC or visiting, you might want to check out this
little show at MOMA. It is up until July. Bern Porter was into mail
art, artist books, performance. A fascinating kook. He was a physicist
on the Manhattan Project who became a pacifist after the bomb was
dropped and he learned what he'd been working on.

Not pottery, but interesting art.

Hi Jacqueline,
Interesting...
His images remind me of a little Book published in the early 1970s I think,
called ( if memory serve, ) "Stuff etc".
It was a succession of reproductions of actual advertisments or portions
thereof, which led
from
mere simple gestures of information, showing a simple product or mentioning
a service, to gradually
getting onto more and more cloying or loaded hooking, to a complete
degredation
and quiet
horror.
As in fact, advertisements, proffering the values they usually rely on, whe=
n
left to their own devices, reliably seem to do.
I did a few 'googles'...found this interview -

Kind of refreshing...
He'd have been fun to know...
