Velvacast is a large particle sized white burning kaolin.

It is a wonderful addition to casting bodies to promote a more rapid
casting rate. Casting bodies are usually quite high in small particle sized
materials and may exhibit a longer than usual casting rate. Additions of
Velvacast encourage water migration through the clay wall into the plaster
as well as helping promote workable viscosity numbers.

We have used additions of 1%-10% Velvacast in bodies ranging from cone 6 to
cone 10.

Velvacast is a product of Dry Branch Kaolin (DBK)

Happy Holidays to all!!

I read your info on velvacast with interest and wondered if it might help
solve warping/distortion problems in casting bodies as well? I use a C7-9
porcelain that gives me some trouble on open forms (bowls,etc.). Thanks in
advance if you have any info to share! Al Pfeiffer
