101 CLAYART MUGS... Terms and Application Form

The exhibit will be held at the Pottery By Celia Gallery in Naples,
Maine from June 25, 1998 through the Labor Day Weekend. Applications will
be accepted up until May 15, 1998 or until 100 participating potters have
been accepted. The participants' mugs will be displayed in my gallery
along with their business cards. The potters' business cards will be kept
inside their mugs, additional cards and biography sheets can be sent. This
information will then be made available to customers upon request.
When a participant's mug sells then a replacement mug if available
will be put back on display, hence it behooves the participating potters to
send more than one mug. The mugs will be sold at the suggested retail
price at a 50/50 (gallery/artist) split. I WILL reserve the right to adjust
the suggested retail price if I feel that the suggested price is not
realistic, participants will be notified in such cases. I will notify
potters via e-mail as their work sells giving them the option to send more
mugs. Participants will be responsible for shipping and return shipping costs
for mugs that do not sell by the end of the exhibit. I will not be
responsible for mugs that are lost, stolen, or broken during shipping.

I WILL ONLY ACCEPT "FIRST QUALITY" MUGS THAT REFLECT QUALITY CRAFTSMANSHIP
AND HAVE ARTISTIC CHARACTER.

Celia and I will do the jurying of the mugs. The $10 participation fees
will be used to help cover the cost of display arrangements, advertisement,
and promotional costs for the exhibit. In order to participate you must
choose one of the below options:

Option 1: Jurying procedure.. A potter can send a sample mug, completed
application form, and a $10 refundable participation fee, which will be
refunded if your mug is not selected, do not send cash. Upon receiving the
mug, I will notify the potter via e-mail of my decision to accept or not
accept that potter's work within 10 days of receipt of their application.
If accepted that mug becomes part of the exhibit and the potter has the
option to send up to 5 more mugs of similar quality for the exhibit. More mugs
can be sent later if need be.

Option 2: Jurying procedure.. A potter can send photo(s), prints or
slides, of their mug for jurying purposes along with a completed
application form, and a $10 refundable participation fee, which will be
refunded if your work is not selected, do not send cash. Send a SASE if
you want the photos returned. The potter will be notified via e-mail of
their status within 10 days of receipt of their application. If selected
the potter can then send up to 6 mugs of similar quality for the
exhibit. More mugs can be sent later if need be.

Option 3: Jurying procedure.. A potter can guide me to their web-site or
send me a picture file of their mugs, a completed application form, and
a $10 refundable participation fee, which will be refunded if your work is
not selected, do not send cash. The potter will be notified via e-mail of
their status within 10 days of receipt of their application. If selected
the potter can then send up to 6 mugs of similar quality for the
exhibit. More mugs can be sent later if need be.

*In all cases participants will be paid the proceeds from the sale of their
mugs on or around September 15, 1998. In order to expedite this I am
asking all participants to send a SASE for payment purposes. At the close
of the exhibit I will pack up any unsold mugs and inform those participants
of their return shipping costs. Upon receipt of the return shipping fees,
I will promptly ship via UPS the unsold mugs to their owners.

In the interest of time I will NOT be able to follow up on U.S. Postal
Service damage claims, I therefore recommend that your mugs should be
shipped to me by United Parcel Service. Save your shipping receipts
through the course of the exhibit.

Ron Wright owner of Shiresham Pottery
http://www.concentric.net/~wrright
is offering web-site space and his web-master skills to promote this
exhibit. He will need photos of your mugs in order to do so.
