Lili K. wants me to say my age, height, size etc to add weight to the
discussion about deep top-loading kilns. OK, full disclosure: I'm 64, 5' 5
3/4" tall, and about 170 lbs. Yes, I lie on my driver's license and say I
am 5' 6". Yes, I used to be blonde.... and I think slugs are disgusting
and not just because I prefer Scotch to beer.

Lis: We could change the discussion to "Old-Fart Potter Guys Loading
Anagamas on their Hands and Knees" but I don't know how honest they will be
about that. Besides which I don't consider my self to be "fat" even though
people keep YELLING this at me all the time

Lis
Back to the topic-
My day dreams are of the sky-hook variety.
Like a block and tackle hanging from a beam which spans the kiln and then
some.
The ropework is attached to a little carriage that runs along the beam.
In this way one could pick up a shelf from a pile next to the kiln, roll it
over the kiln and lower it down.
The same could be done for the lid.
