dred pounds of this?

I'm using the last of the red mica clay from NM Clay to build a Qumran
inspired jar. This is perfect clay for coil building. It's very easy
to get the clay to roll out into a uniform coil. It almost seems as if
the purpose of this clay is to coil build. I'll probably get the jar
finished after work tonight. Then I'll let it dry a bit before I
burnish the outside. I'll put clear glaze on the inside. I know that
kills the mica shine, but I want the jar to be functional as well as
pretty.

If you ever have a chance to use this clay, don't let the opportunity
slip by! I know there are some who throw this clay, but it's well
suited to hand building.

I'm almost tempted to make a bread pan from the clay. I've had a bad
experience with low fire clay in the oven and don't want to repeat
that experience (split in two the first time I used it) but I'm
thinking the heat absorbing properties of the mica would make for a
very nice crust.
