Well I'm pretty happy about the whole thing this time because it stopped r=
aining, I didn't get heat stroke because of not having a show tent, my budd=
y Dan came and sat with (he and Lora usta do shows with drawings and paints=
), I sold three pots with an average per unit sale of $41.67 so I'm picking=
up right about where I left off before going on that last 12 year soaker. =
Least expected though was when the Judges came back to my booth and slapped=
a blue ribbon on my name plate saying the $50 check is in the mail...
From there you can see the whole display by clicking next. A big thanks to=
my Mummy, teachers, sponsors, friends young and old or dead for showing me=
the ways to success. And of course some would have to say something about =
I should keep going and make another load. Maybe so and it wouldn't take a =
lot of pieces to refill by September if we can put up the fuel in time to f=
ire before brushing season. However, I can also practice selling a few piec=
es along with the Christmas wreaths. I think I might start out with a limit=
of about 25 wreaths with a bowl for the first batch and if there is time m=
ake a few more. I need to be realistic though and should get some kind of p=
art time job unless folks like this stuff enough to keep me busy making pot=
s. Thanks for keeping track and stay in there eh!

Gary: Those are some pretty smart judges then. They looked like blue ribbon
pots to me when you first started posting images of the refire. Are you
still getting used to the idea of what your new kiln is doing? It is a
serious artistic kind of style I think.

Thanks Eric,=3D0A=3D0A To tell the truth, no I'm not use to this kilns effe=
cts,=3D
mostly because I expected some of the shiny or clear glazes to show someth=

ing but they must have gotten lost in the shuffle of reloading. Learning to=
=3D
get everything above ^8 and not over firing the front will be the next tas=

k. I received a suggestion that covering the chamber with 8-10" of dirt, st=
=3D
raw, and Portland cement would even it out but that somehow exceeds the aes=
=3D
thetic limitations I've put on this assignment. It was hotter than I'd like=
=3D
working around chamber so I'm thinking another layer of blanket and/or som=
=3D
e more IFB or house brick on the outer shell would reduce heat loss. There =
=3D
are a couple other changes to the fire box and stack I'm thinking about and=
=3D
the loading pattern needs more study. I am happy with the some of the resu=
=3D
lts because they remind me of something found at an old kiln site that was =
=3D
not quite good enough to ship to the King. =3D0A=3D0AGary Navarre=3D0ANavar=
