Dear Tony Ferguson,

Creative thinking.

The elements you mention tend to be present in water as Ions in Solution.
Filtering removes particulate matter. I have a two part system for our
reticulated water. There is a particulate filter that removes solids down t=
o
about 5 microns, but not clay. The second stage is an Activated Carbon
filter that removes materials that cause odour.

That Paper seems to suggest that one gram of treated bentonite can remove
2.26 milligrams of fluoride (salt, not fluorine or fluoride ions ?) when th=
e
original concentration of Fluoride was five milligrams per Litre.

The fact that the original absorbency value cannot be restored would be
against commercial development. Anyway, firing filter elements made from
this substance would probably destroy its effectiveness.
