In the world of contemporary ceramics, Yingge Taiwan is probably the place
to be. Hosting the 2010 Taiwan Ceramics Biennale this pottery village, les=
s
than an hour's train ride outside of Taipei, is full of galleries and shops=
,
all focused on ceramics.
Since Taiwan's history starts in 1949, it is all very fresh and modern with
the incredible influence from mainland China. These photos, my last I
promise, start with the galleries, progress to the Biennale, then the
museum's permanent collection and, saving the best for last, the Taiwan
Crystalline Glaze competition.
