Mel's right - art is a personal journey. I think it's a lifelong
journey.

I've been working on my sketchbook for the Sketchbook Project. I've
discovered I make some very weird art. Or at least it looks very weird
to me. I did two pages on my cat and his thoughts. (These pages are on
the blog.) And I keep finding myself looking at my sketch of the cat.
There's something there I don't understand yet. Somehow, even though I
didn't intend to, my inner feelings come out in the sketch of the cat.

I disagree with Mel on the subject of medium. I think life is WAY too
short to play with just one toy. I've been sewing for years. I try to
make each garment and each quilt better than the last. I've been
working on beaded cabochons. I'm working on making my beading better.
I'm working on jars in clay. I'm working on getting my coiling better
with each jar. I'm working on the shape of the jar and making a more
pleasing shape with each jar. This coming semester, I'll be altering
those jars into personal casserole dishes. I'd like something the
right size for one or two people that can go in the microwave, the
oven, the fridge, and the dishwasher. I want something pretty so it's
easier for me to stick to low-fat vegetarian (I've got a cholesterol
and triglycerides problem that I want to fix without meds).

And so I'm off on my personal, lifelong journey which comes with
twists, turns, surprises, and a cat sketch that bewilders me.
