Is this propane or natural gas?
If you have a high pressure regulator but are using residential natural gas
line, the pressure might be too low to read on your gauge.

I am wondering if I NEED adjustable regulators for a two-pound line...? (My
current regulators are not adjustable.)
You should have an adjustable regulator with pressure gauge.

Hi Laura,

I might suggest that you test for "Inches of water column" That is the real
test of gas volumes. My propane fired kiln, firing full bore will read 6 1/=
2
inches of water column, but less than 1/2 lb of pressure.

I do not use regulators, just a valve that I slowly open as the temp rises.
I have posted my firing schedule before so it's in the archives if you want
to see it.

My burners and gas safeties were build by Warn Burners and I've had no
problems. Marc is very helpful in solving problems and has any parts you
might need in stock. Whenever I have built a new kiln, he is my first call.
His website also has a compilation of his articles from Pottery Making
Illustrated.
