Randy,
maybe it is the high amount of magnesium carbonate that is causing the
problem,especially in connection with the high
amount of ball clay.
High amounts of MgCO3 plays dirty tricks,
so does high amounts of lithium carbonate.
Rub in the raw glaze onto the pot while it
is still sort of damp. That is why I only use very small amounts
of MgCO3 now.
The same goes for lithium, only up to 5%.
